Exchange Sex and Condom Use Among Gay, Bisexual, and Other Men Who Have Sex with Men Who Use Social and Sexual Networking Technologies

The practice of sex work or exchange (having in for money, drugs, shelter, other things) and the risks HIV sexually transmissible infections (STIs) associated with it differ based on venues where partners meet (e.g., streets, agencies, Internet). Although there is evidence that gay, bisexual, men who have (MSM) use social media dating/hookup applications websites to find sex, little known about this phenomenon. We used online survey data collected among MSM New York City recruited through social/sexual networking technologies learn more population. Overall, 28.8% participants had ever exchanged (sold) including 8.4% done so prior three months. Almost half (46.4%) those met their first client a app/website (that was not website dedicated work), majority (88%) months these technologies.
